In the latest installment of our series spotlighting our stylish buying team, we connected with Connecticut native Lynn LaVecchia, who’s an assistant buyer in the denim department. Lynn knows a thing or two about a thing or two, especially when it comes to selecting the perfect pair of jeans, and the picks in her sale highlight her love for easy classics you can wear to death. Before you shop, though, read below to find out her men’s style preferences (and her go-to spot for pasta in New York City).
Hometown: Killingworth, CT
Desert island record: The Golden Hits of Lesley Gore
Currently Reading: Half the Sky by Nicholas D. Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn, and I’ve Got Your Number by Sophie Kinsella – I like to balance the silly with the serious.
All-Time Favorite Movie: Housesitter and anything else Steve Martin.
Last Concert I Saw: Beyonce, The Mrs. Carter Show!!
Best Meal I Ever Ate: The best is hard to name, but I frequently crave the braised beef short ribs and the spaghetti with tomato and basil from Scarpetta here in NYC. I am always in search of the city’s most amazing pasta al pomodoro.
How a Guy Should Dress: Like himself but unafraid to show a little personality. There should be a bit of intrigue…
Go-To Drink: Nothing fancy, probably a Ketel One and soda or a Bud Light.
Style Icon: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis mixed with a little SJP.
Biggest Men’s Style Pet Peeve: It’s either guys subscribing to a cliched, uber preppy look or wearing grubby gym clothes in public while not doing anything remotely close to working out.
Favorite Piece in My Sale: The Levi’s Red Tab 501 Jeans in Rigid Rinse for the classic fit guy and the 511 Jeans in Black Stretch for the guy that likes the fit a bit slimmer.
Summer or Winter? Summer!
Every Guy Should Own A: Great fitting pair of dark denim that they can throw on for anything.
Travel Essential: Shoes for every occasion, headphones and a book of word searches. I definitely live by the “more is more” philosophy when traveling.
The Theme of My Sale Is: A fun and casual time for all
To Me, Great Style Is: Refreshing
