Stephen and June.

Not only are our colleagues hard working, highly talented, and incredibly well-dressed, but they also lead fabulous lives outside the office. In our ongoing series designed to incite adventures (and, sometimes, envy), here’s what’s on the long-weekend docket of Gilt Home’s Editor, Stephen Milioti.

My weekend will start with pasta and wine at Il Buco, with a good friend. I love this place – the food’s the real deal (this coming from an Italian) and nothing about it tries tragically hard. Then I will go home and watch Sex and the City reruns with my dog June.

Saturday morning, June and I will wake up late and take our usual stroll along the Hudson River, reflecting on life and barking at squirrels. Then I’m heading to the Hopper Drawing exhibit at the Whitney. I’ve been meaning to get there. Museums are a big thing for me; I go to one pretty much weekly. A tip is to get a membership – MOMA’s, for instance, at $85 a year, adds up as a good value pretty quickly when you figure the regular admission’s 25 bucks. I’m also a big theater person – specifically plays (a few weeks ago I saw “Buyer & Cellar,” a one-man show starring Michael Urie, which I highly recommend! And if you go, get some of the city’s most delicious Greek food before at Snack Taverna, on Bedford St).

Speaking of museums, Saturday night is dinner at the Bar Room at The Modern with some friends who are coming into town. It’s probably my favorite restaurant in the city: inspired, Alsatian-tinged menu, great wine list — and the overall look of the space is a triumph of less-is-more, simply stated modernism. Then home for an evening nightcap with June and more Sex and the City, followed or preceded by The Golden Girls (I’ve seen every episode of this ‘80s sitcom, but I still get something new out of it every time — much like a Faulkner novel).

On Sunday, I have a massage booked at Cowshed, the spa at the Soho House. (No, I do not have a membership — you don’t need one to go to this great spa, but this still reminds me of my favorite Sex and the City episode, which involves Samantha faking her way in using the misplaced membership card of one miss Annabelle Bronstein). While I’m down in the Meatpacking District, I’ll pay a trip to Jeffrey.

On Sunday, I’ll also hit up the Theory flagship store on Gansevoort — a must, especially in fall, for can’t-miss basics — and saunter up a few blocks to Chelsea Market, where I have a ritual: an iced mocha from Ninth Street Espresso, and a visit to the gem of a bookstore, Posman Books (it’s an indie, but not one where the ceiling’s caving in; it’s cozy-yet-bright, well-organized, and just overall a really relaxing experience. Another bookstore I recommend, in a similar vein, is McNally Jackson, on Prince.). Remember: actual book > e-book. I also want to try to get to the Opening Ceremony by the Water pop-up market at 15th St. and the piers, before it pops down on the 12th (it’s just up for Fashion Week). Then I’ll go home, order chicken souvlaki from the diner downstairs, and, watch … well, you can guess.
